Theodore C. Conrad (1903-1995) For over fifty years, the Harvard educated T. C. Conrad practiced as a lawyer and Certified Public Accountant with a specialty in estate planning and taxation.
Louis A. Trosch is the senior partner of Conrad Trosch & Kemmy, P.A. He has over 40 years of experience in real estate law, litigation, business formation, probate and estate administration. Lou currently heads our Real Estate Department and also handles matters relating to estate administration and probate. He is an award-winning tenured professor of Business Law at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is the author of numerous law articles. He is certified by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission to conduct continuing legal education seminars. Lou earned his Master’s degree from the George Washington University College of Business and his Law degree from West Virginia University. Lou has been rated as having high to preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by a survey of confidential opinions from the area judges and attorneys.
Michael J. Kemmy heads our Estate and Probate Department. Utilizing nearly 30 years of experience, Michael’s practice concentrates on estate planning, probate and estate administration. Michael also handles matters relating to general business law and real estate law. He taught Business Law at the University of North Carolina from 1987 to 1997 and has also worked for the IRS as an estate and gift tax attorney. Michael earned his Law degree from Washburn University School of Law and is a graduate of Creighton University. A frequent lecturer on probate and estate planning topics, Michael has been rated as having high to very high legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by a survey of confidential opinions from area judges and attorneys.
William Conrad Trosch heads up the Litigation Department and concentrates much of his efforts toward the firm’s civil and criminal litigation practice while also maintaining a general practice. He is an honors graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, holding degrees in Economics and Mathematics, and is an honors graduate of North Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Bill was a member of the North Carolina Law Review in which he had an article published. The article has been referenced by numerous publications and courts, including Ohio’s Supreme Court. He has volunteered in many local Bar and charitable programs, including serving as a judge for Mecklenburg County Teen Court, a local program for youthful offenders. Bill has lectured at a number of seminars for lawyers and paralegals and has been rated as having high to very high legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by a survey of confidential opinions from area judges and attorneys.
Minette C. Trosch focuses on family law and is trained in the use of the collaborative law process. Minette is a member of the Mecklenburg County Collaborative Family Law Practice Group and was appointed to and serves on the Mecklenburg County Domestic Court Committee. An honors graduate from the University of North Carolina School of Law, she was recognized for her integrity, leadership and scholarship as an inductee into the Davis Society of UNC and earned the Advanced Family Law Award. She co-founded Child Action, an organization dedicated to children’s legal issues. Prior to her legal practice, Minette had a distinguished career in public service in which she served on the Charlotte City Council as Mayor Pro Tem; the National League of Cities’ Board of Directors; the Governor’s Urban Transportation Task Force; National Institute of Environmental Health Services Advisory Council; and the Hazardous Materials Advisory Committee to which she was appointed by then U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elizabeth Dole. She also testified before and negotiated a bill adopted by the US Congress. Minette was featured at the Levine Museum of the New South as one of the “Remarkable Women Who Made History” in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her papers are part of UNCC’s special collections archives. She also was CEO of Take-A-Break, Inc., a retail convenience store chain. Minette has been rated as having high to very high legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by a survey of confidential opinions from area judges and attorneys.
Kristin L. Smith has over 15 years of experience in domestic relations and civil litigation. She is a graduate of Duke University and University of Georgia School of Law. During her time in law school, Kristin served on the Editorial Board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. She is a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Book Award for Criminal Procedure. A member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, she has served in many leadership capacities, including Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Division, as well as Co-Chair of the Family Law Section. Kristin serves on the executive committee of the Domestic Court Committee of Mecklenburg County Courts. She is also a member of the American Bar Association as well as the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, serving on the Family Law Council, the elected governing body of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. Kristin has been rated as having high to very high legal abilities and very high ethical standards as established by a survey of confidential opinions from area judges and attorneys.
Eric C. Trosch focuses on family law and civil litigation. Eric graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. He is proficient in German, a skill he learned during his studies at the University of Tuebingen in Germany. Eric was the first recipient of the annual American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers’ Award for outstanding contribution to the advancement of matrimonial law. Eric assisted Professor Suzanne Reynolds of Wake Forest University with her research for the treatise, Lee’s North Carolina Family Law. He was appointed to and serves on the Domestic Court Committee of the Mecklenburg County Courts. Eric is also an active member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, and has been appointed to serve on the statewide Collaborative Law Committee. As a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, he has coordinated and presented at the biannual Family Law Section custody seminar. Eric is a member of and participates on the executive steering committee of the Mecklenburg Collaborative Family Law Practice Group.
Anna D. Baker is an associate attorney in the firm’s Real Estate Department. Anna is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School Of Law. She graduated, magna cum laude, from Salem College with a bachelors degree in English. She is also a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar Association, South Carolina State Bar, and the Gaston County Bar Association.
Andrew C. Rheingrover is an attorney in the firm's Family Law Group. Andrew is a graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law. Andrew graduated from Bucknell University (Deans List: 2003-2004) with a bachelors degree in Environmental Studies. He is also a member of the North Carolina State Bar, North Carolina Bar Association, and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. While attending Wake Forest University School of Law, Andrew volunteered with the Domestic Violence Advocacy Center and the Innocence Project.
